Principles of RO Membrane housing
When the pure water and salt water are separated by the ideal semi-permeable Membrane, the ideal semi-permeable membrane allows only water to pass but prevent the passage of salt. We call this phenomenon as penetration. If the salt water side of the membrane to exert pressure, then the spontaneous flow of water will be inhibited and slowed down, when the pressure reaches a certain value, the net flow of water through the membrane is equal to zero, the pressure is called osmotic pressure. When the exert pressure of saline side is greater than osmotic pressure, then the water flow will be reversed, thus saline water will flow to the water side. The above-mentioned phenomenon is the reverse osmosis water (RO) dealing with the basic principles.
